Whether you work on a computer or with a belt sander, you are probably pretty eager to leave the implements of your job behind when you set off on a vacation. However, there is one tool that is just as handy when you travel as it is during your normal, daily life. This tool, of course, is your AAA card. As you venture about this summer, I encourage you to view your card as your Swiss Army knife for travel, because it is designed to meet so many expected and unexpected needs.
Many of you are already familiar with the exclusive offers on cruises and land tours available through the AAA Travel Agency and on the discounts available at hotels, attractions and other establishments through our Show Your Card and Save program. You also know how our maps and TripTik routings make planning a road trip easy—and fun. What you should also know is, as an organization committed to meeting your diverse and ever-evolving needs, we continue to develop technological enhancements to bring the benefits of membership directly to your fingertips—whether you are at home or on the road.
For example, AAA Discount Reminders, free software available at www.AAA.com, allows you to learn about relevant AAA discounts every time you conduct an Internet search. The free AAA TripTik Mobile application for iPhones lets you download maps, directions and information on restaurants and hotels along your route directly onto your phone. Our AAA FindMe service for Sprint GPS-enabled mobile phones makes it easier for our service technicians to find you, should you need roadside assistance. We are diligently working to expand these and other services to additional wireless platforms.
Summer is a great time to create lasting memories while traveling with loved ones. Your multifaceted AAA card is designed to help ensure that these memories are really good ones. Have a great summer.
