The Bachelor's Jason Mesnick.
The Bachelor's Other PicksKirkland resident Jason Mesnick reveals his choices for Northwest fun by Rob BhattIn the process of getting passed up for another man in last year’s season finale of “The Bachelorette,” Jason Mesnick captured the hearts of television viewers across the nation. Proving that love sometimes offers second chances, the producers of ABC’s hit reality television series invited the successful single dad back to star in this season’s version of “The Bachelor.” The well-rounded young man—he plays sports, has traveled extensively and even volunteers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America—made many a heart swoon as he searched for the perfect mate from among the show’s 25 female finalists. Then came the shocking season finale, which sparked a wide range of emotions—not all good—toward the Kirkland man. We caught up with him to find out how he spends his time away from the cameras. We assume he's not going to change his mind about these choices. Q. Where are some of your places to go on road trips in the Northwest? A. My favorite places to go are the San Juan Islands and over to Lake Chelan. I just love it over there.
Q. What are some of the things you do to keep your son (3-year-old Ty) happy and comfortable on long road trips? A. Wow! Good question, fun music that we both like to sing along to. We also just love to talk about all the new things he is seeing. At Ty’s age, kids are so curious.
Q. Where are some of the places you like you go when you do things with kids through the Big Brothers program? A. The park. The zoo. A Mariners game. It really doesn't matter as long as you are doing something active.
Q. Where are the places you would recommend parents go when they want to have the perfect family day with their children? A. Ty and I love to go to the zoo or the aquarium. We also love to go to a golf course and hit balls. Swimming too, if its winter then we find an indoor pool, if summer then anywhere works. |
